=== LOT Call-of-Proposal: 2023B Semester === This is call-of-proposal for Lulin One-meter Telescope (LOT) for Semester 2023B (from 01 May to 31 August, 2023). The proposal is divided into two categories: Education -- use the latex template given in LOT_Proposal_Education.zip for this category. Research -- use the latex template given in LOT_Proposal_Research.zip for this category. Deadline: *** 31 Mar 2023 (before midnight local Taiwan time) *** Please sent your proposal(s), the latex file and an additional one-page of Figures and/or Tables, to me by email: ycpan@gm.astro.ncu.edu.tw IMPORTANT MESSAGE: (A) Following nights are not available (But if you targets can be observed near full moon, we may still allocate these dates depending on the schedule) 06-07 May -- Engineering/Full Moon 03-04 Jun -- Engineering/Full Moon 03-04 Jul -- Engineering/Full Moon 02-03 Aug -- Engineering/Full Moon (B) Starting 2019A Semester, about 8-12 (continuous) nights per months of LOT time will be given to a Large Program. (C) Starting 2021A Semester for the nights that LCI is equipped, about sum of up to 1 hour might be shared/used by a special/filler program. If you don't want to share nights, please mark "NO" in Section 13 (the default is "YES"). Note: the 1-hour filler program may not be continuous. The purpose is to fill the gap of the main observing program. (D) The original Sophia 2048B CCD equipped on LOT was sent back for repairs and we have now replaced it with Andor iKon-L 936 (which has a comparable performance as Sophia). (E) Proposals using LISA spectrograph (LCS) are required to have observer(s) going to Lulin Observatory. Please also note that it is currently not possible to exchange the instruments (e.g., LISA and LCI) at the same night due to the instrumental limitation. (F) We strongly encourage observers (especially students) to be presented at the Lulin Observatory, instead of queue observing. (G) For proposal(s) re-submitted from past semesters, please address TAC comments. Proposal(s) that do not show improvement will be rejected. (H) The typical proprietary period of data is 5 years. (I) We suggest that the proposed number of on-site observers should not exceed 15. Please contact the Lulin staffs directly (before submitting the proposal) if you would like to propose more than 15 observers. Note that late submission will NOT be accepted. For information regarding LOT and/or available instruments, please check Lulin's website (www.lulin.ncu.edu.tw) or consult with Lulin observing staff (lulinobsstaff@gm.astro.ncu.edu.tw) ToO policy: * maximum 2 hr ToO interruption per night; please negotiate/inform the original PI in advance * please sent the ToO request to Lulin observing staff (lulinobsstaff@gm.astro.ncu.edu.tw) * the original PI/observer remained the right to accept/decline ToO The accepted proposals and schedule for 2023B Semester will be announced at Lulin's website (www.lulin.ncu.edu.tw) in mid-Apr 2023.
